PRIMARY PURPOSE: To produce and edit material produced by the Engineering Students’ Society, and ensure the material released is held to a high, error-free standard. Lead a group of graphic designers in the production of the graphic aspect of ESS publications.

NATURE OF WORK: The coordinator will work directly under the AVP Publications to ensure released materials do not violate ESS Policies. The coordinator is also responsible for producing the graphic aspect of any ESS publications.

ACCOUNTABILITIES: Reporting directly to the AVP Publications, work on various assignments pertaining to graphic content released to the public such as the EnggLink and Bridge publications and the ESS Year Book.

TASKS AND DUTIES:Report directly to the AVP Publications on a regular basis; assist the AVP Publications in their capacity; design and edit the graphic content for all publications associated with the ESS; ensure released material is up to the Society’s high standard; work on competing projects with multiple deadlines; and, maintain the transition document for the Graphic Designer Coordinator position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Candidates must be an undergraduate engineering student at the University of Alberta.
Experience
No previous experience is required for this position; however, experience in graphic design is beneficial.
Skills
Microsoft Office application skills; ability to work with and lead a team; possesses creative thinking and problem-solving skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal; proven vision and self-motivation skills; and, the ability to work on multiple projects with competing demands to meet deadlines.
