PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The purpose of this position is to work with the Congress planning committee to prepare a bid from September to December 2017. In the event the bid is received; the applicant

will play a major role in planning of Congress 2020.

NATURE OF WORK:
The preliminary stages include creating the Congress schedule, contacting industry for sponsorship, creating a financial plan, working with Edmonton businesses to plan evening

events. More information will be available at the interview.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
You are accountable for reporting to the Congress Chair and fulfilling tasks under assigned portfolio.

TASKS AND DUTIES:
Depending on the role, you may be expected to set up communications, plan

events, propose logistics, create sponsorship package or laisse with industry.

QUALIFICATIONS
:

Education

Candidates must be an undergraduate engineering student at the University of Alberta.

Experience

Relevant volunteer and leadership experience is required for this position. Event planning skills are an

asset.

Skills
Microsoft Office application skills; ability to work in a team environment; possesses creative thinking

and exceptional problem solving skills; effective interpersonal and communication skills both written

and verbal; proven vision and self-motivation skills; and, ability to work on multiple projects with

competing demands to meet deadlines.
